YOUTH STADIUM SUMMER CAMP, Summer 24

Improve your soccer skills and have fun playing the beautiful game with your Southwest Lakers! Southwest Lakers Summer Youth Soccer Camp provides an active, engaging way for kids entering grades 4-6 to spend some lovely Minneapolis summer evenings at the one-of-a-kind Southwest Stadium and to meet Lakers captains, coaches, and team members!

Who: All kids entering Grades 4-9 in Fall 2024

When: Monday, August 5 - Thursday, August 8, 2024, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Where: Southwest High School Stadium, W 48 th St and Abbott Ave (next to Pershing Park)

Cost: $75 for first camper, $60 each additional sibling

Led by: Southwest Lakers Mens and Womens Varsity Team Captains and Players

Registration is limited to the first 100 kids who register, complete waivers, and payment is received.

All paid participants will receive a camp t-shirt as well as free admission to a select Fall 2024 Southwest Lakers Soccer home game. Participants will also be able to sign up to be ball chasers at home games.

Grade: Senior (Fall ‘24)

Position:  Midfield/Forward

What are you most looking forward to this upcoming Soccer season?

Playing a full season healthy and competing with the guys for one last time.

 What are your goals for this season?

Improve greatly upon last year’s results and to lead the boys to play and be the best they can be.

 What is your favorite Southwest Soccer memory?

3-0 against Washburn at home in 2022. Not the most significant game but a thrilling affair under the lights. Full of goals and inevitable controversy.

What is your favorite soccer team?

Manchester City but really any Pep coached side.

 What are you most looking forward to this upcoming Soccer season?

Beating Washburn and forming a good soccer community

 What are you goals for this season?

I’d like to beat Washburn and all other competition and make it to state.

What are you most looking forward to this upcoming Soccer season?
I am looking forward to playing with returning teammates and first year varsity players, as well as getting the opportunity to show the new guys around the program. 

What are your goals for this season?
On a personal standpoint I would like to have 5+ assists on the season. As a team, the goal is a section final.

What is your favorite Southwest Soccer memory?
My favorite Southwest Soccer memory is getting my first Varsity start against Minnetonka.
 
What is your favorite soccer team?
Bayern and Tottenham, and Minnesota United, and maybe Kobenhavn, and there are a few more... :)

All students planning to try out for the 2024 Fall Men’s Soccer program and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend!

When: Wednesday, May 15th

Time:  5:00pm-6:30pm

Where: Southwest High School Commons

Agenda: 

Meet the 2024 coaches and assistant coaches captains, and booster leadership

Learn about plans for 2024 tryouts and season

2024 SUMMER KEY DATES

Optional/Informal June/July team gatherings, practices and team building activities

• August Captains Practices (optional but recommended) (M-F 10a-12p, week of 8/5)

• Youth Camp (M-TH week of 8/5, 5-7pm)

• Team Tryouts (M-F week of 8/12) - Time TBD: could last 5+ days

• Blaine Scrimmages for JV and V pools (weekend of 8/16-8/18)

• Team + Individual Photos (8/19 2pm, practice to follow)

• Stillwater Tournament for all teams (week of 8/19, likely Thurs - Sun)

• Out of town event for V pool (8/22 or 8/23)

• Welcome Party for all families (Monday, 8/26 5-7pm)

• Games for all teams begin week of 8/26
