Southwest Soccer Tryouts

Who can try out?

• All Southwest registered students in accordance with MSHSL regulations

• Incoming Freshman and 7th and 8th graders who will attend Southwest High School.

• Minimum GPA requirement of 2.0

Registration for 2026 is NOW OPEN

Registration and payment is required for all athletes intending to participate.

• Registration can be completed online here: MPS Online Athletic Registration For registration support: 800-311-4060, press '4'

  You will upload your most recent physical and educational benefits application in this portal.

• Link to pay $75 registration fee online is here: Student Quick Pay Payment assistance will also be an option in the online portal. For tech support, contact sisteam@mplsk12.mn.us.

  If paying online is not an option, a check to ‘Southwest Athletics’ can be dropped off in the lockbox outside of the Athletics Office at Southwest.

• 7th and 8th graders cannot use the online portal to pay, so please be prepared to drop off a check in the lockbox outside of the Athletics office at Southwest High School

• Separate payments need to be made for each player  

ALL potential players need a physical on record from the last three years

• TRIA is offering free Minnesota State HS League physical.  See below or Click here to find out more dates/times - https://tria.com/physicals/ 

• You can also click here to download the form and take to your own doctor or your doctor’s office will also provide a copy

• Sports physicals are free at the Southwest Mini-Clinic: call 612-394-3278 if needed

• The athlete’s physical record can be uploaded in your account at MPS Online Athletic Registration
