Southwest Soccer Fitness Expectations
Southwest has grown to become one of the elite programs in the state, with numerous conference championships and four state tournament berths since 2006. Much of this success is due to competition for roster spots and playing time. We expect that when players come to tryouts, they will be at their best in terms of fitness. Here are some guidelines to help players prepare for tryouts and the soccer season.
You should be able to:
- Run three miles without stopping (9-10 grade)
- Run five miles without stopping (11-12 grade)
- Do 50 consecutive push-ups
- Do 50 consecutive sit-ups
Do some type of fitness each day. Every day you skip is a day you lose ground on someone else.
