Soccer Picnic and Registration

  • Beard’s Plaisance Park 4525 Upton Avenue South Minneapolis, MN, 55410 United States (map)

We kick off the 2017 Lakers Soccer season with a Welcome Picnic from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., at Beard's Plaisance in Minneapolis, on Sunday, August 27, 2017.  Come ON-TIME to register your player and get practice jerseys.  You will then meet the coaching staff, and we will all welcome incoming players and family members who are new to the Southwest community. At the picnic we will also distribute information, schedules and rosters for the upcoming season.

ALL PLAYERS SELECTED FOR A SWHS SOCCER TEAM ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND, WITH AT LEAST ONE PARENT AND/OR GUARDIAN

All family members are welcome.

The Boosters will provide hot dogs, and we ask families to bring the following:

  • Freshman: Salads and/or fruit
  • Sophomores: Salads and/or fruit
  • Juniors: Desserts
  • Seniors: Water in coolers with ice

THE BOOSTER CLUB WILL BE COLLECTING THE SUGGESTED CONTRIBUTION OF $125.00 PER PLAYER

This contribution allows the Men's Booster Club to support a robust soccer program of four teams, with approximately 75-80 players. The suggested contribution covers expenses through the season, from coaching fees to apparel to activities such as the end-of-the-year banquet.

  • We ask for your contribution at the picnic payable by check made to SWHS Mens Soccer Booster Club.

  • Please note that no player will be turned away due to inability to pay.

VOLUNTEER FOR THE 2017 SEASON

If you have a player on a SWHS soccer team, then you are a Soccer Booster! The Booster Club supports the soccer program financially, and by providing volunteers to run program-related activities such as running concessions, helping with fund raisers, and promoting the program. At the Welcome Picnic, Boosters can sign up for different volunteer activities. We are able to support a comprehensive soccer program when each Booster member volunteers for  4-5 different activities.
